The cottage is called Crofts. It's in Belnacraig, south west of Aberdeen, right on the edge of the Cairngorms. It's a detached cottage.
It sleeps six people. There are three bedrooms and one family bathroom. The bathroom has a separate bath and walk-in shower. One bedroom is on the ground floor, the other two are upstairs. One of the upstairs beds can be a super king or two singles.
The track up to the house is steep. Once you're up, the views over the glen are very good. You drive over your own little bridge to get in. There's plenty of parking.
Inside, it's comfortable. It's got a 4 Star rating. The main room is open plan with a wood burning stove. There's a selection of board games and jigsaws. The garden is enclosed, so it's safe for kids and dogs. You can bring one dog.
Outside, there's a fire pit area for sitting out in the evening. It gets properly dark here, which is good for stargazing. There's also a large barn with a table tennis table in it.
You'll see wildlife. Deer, sometimes a barn owl, sand martins. The area is good for walking, cycling, golf, and fishing. The Cairngorms National Park is on your doorstep. Balmoral and the Whisky Trail are within a 30 minute drive.
The nearest shop is a Spar in Bellabeg, about 6 miles away. The nearest pub and restaurant is the Steading at the Lonach, about 7 miles. They serve food and have local beers. The Kildrummy Inn is also good for a meal. Alford is a bit further and has more shops and places to eat.
In terms of facilities: all bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, a cot, and a highchair. There's on-site parking. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.
