Old Chapel House

Dating back to the 18th century, this Grade II listed former Baptist Chapel has been lovingly converted into a tastefully decorated and contemporary holiday home, which exudes luxury and comfort. Successfully combining all of its original character and charm with the modern comforts guests expect from a holiday home, the property offers a unique experience.
On the ground floor is a fabulous open plan living space, ideal for families and friends to spend quality time together. Perfect for entertaining, the modern and well equipped kitchen boasts a huge central island with polished concrete worktops and glamorous bar stools. The dining area which is dominated by a reclaimed stone pillar, offers an opportunity for more formal dining. The double height living area, furnished with leather Chesterfield sofas and original Victorian range with gel effect fire, is the perfect place to relax and unwind. For convenience, there is also a downstairs toilet and cloakroom for coats and boots. Upstairs there are four beautifully presented bedrooms, the master of which has flat screen TV and en-suite with toilet, shower cubicle and large vanity area with double wash basin. A well-appointed family bathroom completes the first floor accommodation. The galleried landing which overlooks the downstairs living area showcases exposed stone work, original timbers and two beautiful chapel windows which flood light into the property, further enhanced by the stunning light fittings. There is private parking for 3 cars and a free car park opposite for vehicles, and the entrance is down the side through two large doors. To the rear is a lovely patio with a table and chairs which is accessed via French windows from the kitchen area.
Situated in one of the oldest parts of Barnoldswick, and only 100 yards away from local shops, pubs and restaurants, Old Chapel House is well located for those who like to have a wide range of amenities right on their doorstep. Perfect for those who like to be pampered, Old Chapel House is attached to a fantastic beauty salon/spa. Converted by the same owner from a dilapidated second–hand furniture shop, guests can experience a wide range of relaxing treatments, including Elemis facials, massages and much more. Please be aware any treatments must be booked directly with the salon prior to arrival to avoid disappointment, please state you are guests staying at the Old Chapel House when booking.
The market town of Barnoldswick is steeped in living history. Its ancient heritage dates back to Anglo Saxon times and it was even mentioned in the Domesday Book. The town is well known for its industrial heritage. Aside from having the highest point of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, Barnoldswick is famous for being the place where Rolls-Royce developed the jet engine in the Second World War. There’s also the town’s most iconic landmark, Bancroft Mill, with its working steam engine. The town has a good variety of shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants, as well as a twice weekly market.
Located just outside the Yorkshire Dales on the Yorkshire/Lancashire border, Old Chapel House is well positioned to visit many local and national treasures, making it a great touring base. Places of interest within easy driving distance include Skipton, Bolton Abbey, Haworth/Bronte Country, Yorkshire Dales, Ribble Valley and the Forest of Bowland, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You can even get to the Lake District in an hour by car. For those who prefer a coastal landscape, the Fylde Coast whose popular resorts include Blackpool and Lytham St Anne’s, is also within an hour’s drive. For those who prefer to leave the car behind, there are many beautiful walks in and around the area. Other activities available locally include golf and fishing. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.
