This is Court Place in Porlock. It's the larger half of a Victorian farmhouse, not quite 150 years old but getting there. The views from the garden are the main thing, straight out over the Bristol Channel. You can see for miles.
It sleeps up to eleven people across four bedrooms. That's why it often works for two families. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. The rooms are genuinely big, which you don't always get in old houses.
The garden is yours to use. It's been landscaped and is very private. There's parking right there.
You're on the edge of the village. The nearest pub is about a hundred yards away, so you can walk. The village shop is just a bit further. For a bigger shop, you'd drive to Minehead.
You're right by the Exmoor National Park. The coastal path is easy to get to from here. Dunster Castle is about ten minutes away by car. The West Somerset Railway is in Minehead, which is also where you can get boats over to Lundy Island if you're lucky with the weather.
Inside, we've tried to keep it comfortable but simple. There's a woodburner for the cooler evenings. WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair.
You can bring up to two dogs. The stairs are typical for an old farmhouse, so they are a bit steep.
