Seafield House

Seafield House is in the middle of Lochinver village. It's the big, white, detached house you can't miss. It sleeps nine, five bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's pretty well kitted out.

The house is old, built around 1800. It belonged to the village shoemaker originally. We've done it up, but tried to keep the character. There are old fireplaces and stone walls. The stairs are the original wide ones, but they're still stairs, so mind your head on the landings.

Downstairs there's a big living room with a wood burner. The dining room has a huge fireplace. The kitchen leads out to a patio and an enclosed garden. We get deer in there sometimes.

Upstairs, the bedrooms look out over the sea to the islands. You get a proper view from most windows.

You're right in the village. The pubs, a couple of restaurants, and the shops are about a two-minute walk. The harbour's there too. For a really good beach, Achmelvich is about ten minutes' drive. It's white sand.

If you like walking or climbing, you can start from the front door. The big hills you can see are Suilven, Stac Pollaidh, Quinag. They're all right there. You might see eagles, otters, seals around. The deer are basically local residents.

Facilities: everything on that list is there. Wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, TV. Parking for two cars on the drive. You can bring two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
