Altabrug is in Stoneybridge, it's on South Uist. It's a detached croft house. It's on about eight acres of croft land, so there's just fields and sky. It feels properly remote but you're not miles from the road.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so everything works and it's clean. The Wi-Fi is okay but it's the islands, so don't expect to stream films all night.
It's good for two dogs. The land isn't fully enclosed so you'd need to keep an eye on them. The patio looks out over the croft. There's a woodburning stove which is essential some evenings.
The beach is about a quarter of a mile walk. It's one of those white sand beaches you see in pictures. You'll have it to yourself most of the time.
A shop, pub, and restaurant are about eight miles drive in Lochboisdale. You'll want to plan your shopping trips. The ferry to Barra goes from Eriskay, which is a short drive away. You can also get the ferry north to Harris and Lewis from Tarbert.
If you like wildlife, you're in the right spot. You might see eagles. We've seen otters along the shore. The Kildonan Museum is nearby and worth a visit. For walking routes and sites, Visit Outer Hebrides is the main website.
In the house you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and bike storage. Bedding and towels are included. The electricity is included in the price.
