Pollard Cottage
Pollard Cottage is in the middle of Lingfield. It's semi-detached, right opposite the church. The church is old, parts from Saxon times.
It's a Tudor cottage, three bedrooms, sleeps six. One bathroom. It's a 5 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
The main thing is the history. It's got beams, an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner, and the kitchen has a high, vaulted ceiling. The stairs up to the landing are a bit steep and narrow, because it's old. There's a little reading area up there that uses old church pews as panelling.
You're right in the village. The pub is across the square. The shop is a few minutes' walk. The train station is about seven minutes on foot. Trains to London take around 35 minutes.
For days out, Hever Castle is close by. Chartwell, which was Churchill's house, isn't far either. The National Trust has a few properties nearby like Standen. If you have children, Godstone Farm is popular.
In the other direction, Gatwick Airport is about 25 minutes by car. Brighton is under an hour.
Facilities: you've got the wood burner, a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a garden out the back, fully enclosed. Parking is on site. You can bring one dog.
