Pollard Cottage is in Lingfield, on the square opposite the old church. It's semi-detached, a proper Tudor place. It's got beams, an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner, and those old wattle and daub walls you can see in places. The kitchen ceiling is high and vaulted. It's a listed building, so the character is all still there, but it's been updated so it's comfortable to live in.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means everything is in good order and it's well-equipped. The stairs are standard for a cottage of this age. You can bring one dog.
You're right opposite a pub that does food. The village shops are about five minutes' walk. Lingfield Park Racecourse is very close. The train station is about seven minutes on foot, and from there it's 35 minutes into London. Gatwick Airport is about 25 minutes by car.
If you're driving, there's a lot to see locally. Hever Castle is about 20 minutes away. Chartwell, where Winston Churchill lived, is maybe 25 minutes. For gardens, you've got Standen or Wakehurst. Ashdown Forest, which is the Hundred Acre Wood from the Winnie-the-Pooh stories, is about a 20 minute drive. The Ashdown Forest website has good visitor information.
What's here: there's a wood burner, a dishwasher, a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. There's an enclosed garden with a patio and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on the square.
