Well worth a visit is Eye castle, being one of the few remaining motte and bailey medieval castles, the site has been restored and revamped with viewing platforms and wonderful views of Eye and its surrounding countryside. The area has an abundance of footpaths and circular routes, a real paradise for walkers. Quiet lanes and countryside routes offer great cycle opportunities. Located in the beautiful Waveney Valley on the Suffolk/Norfolk border means it is within easy reach of the historic city of Norwich, the Norfolk Broads, and many market towns including; Diss, Bury St Edmunds, with its market square with Abbey ruins, Ipswich for shopping and marina with waterside restaurants and inns, Woodbridge, Framlingham complete with castle, and Debenham for antique shops.
