Shore Cottage

Shore Cottage is in Tarbert, on the Kintyre peninsula. It's a detached bungalow, so everything is on one level, which is handy. It was built for quarry workers over a hundred years ago, but it's been done up.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. The main thing is the view. You look straight out over Loch Tarbert. You can see seals sometimes.

There's an enclosed garden that goes right down to the shore. You can fish from there if you want. The garden gets the sun in the afternoon.

Tarbert village is about two miles away. It's a proper working fishing harbour. There's a Co-op, a few pubs, and some places to eat. The pub food is decent.

You can walk from the door. The Kintyre Way walking route is close by. For a sandy beach, you'd drive to Carradale, which is about 20 minutes up the coast.

You can get the ferry from Tarbert over to the Isle of Gigha for the day to see the gardens. The ferry to Arran goes from Claonaig, which is about a 25 minute drive north.

Facilities: There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings, a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking. It's pet friendly, up to two dogs. Bedding is included. We can provide a cot and highchair.
